One of the best ways to learn mindfulness based stress reduction (MBSR) is to take an online course or class from a certified instructor.  I stay that, only because i’m about to recommend an online mindfulness class taught by a certified instructor 🙂

In all seriousness, one of my mentors and personal heroes is Jon Kabat Zin, a man who has truly revolutionized the practice of meditation, or specifically secular meditation, in the United States and throughout the West.  I have read most of his books, and seen him speak countless times, and I find myself better and more inspired to live a life of passion and purpose, each and every time without fail.

Jon (as if were are on a first name basis 🙂 started the MBSR program more than 25 years ago.  At the time, mindfulness meditation was a hippy dippy idea that very few people took seriously.

Today, it’s being studied in more Universities than I could count here, and the empirical benefits of meditation, and mindfulness specifically, are piling up faster than anyone ever expected.  (with changes in the brain being demonstrated as quickly as a few short weeks, and subjective, first person benefits far greater, often happening far faster as well)

With all of this being said – if you truly want to learn mindfulness in the MBSR tradition, but don’t have the time to do a retreat or an on campus immersive experience, the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course, being sponsored by Sounds True publishing, and taught over 8 weeks by two amazing instructors, is an amazing place to do it.

Here is my link (aff) to the course.

And if you buy the course using my link – I’m happy to work with you by phone or email for 60 minutes (free) on any meditation or experiential questions you may have.

(I practice something similar to what is taught in the MBSR class, although I tend to have a bit more of a “spiritual” bent to my practice that is a bit beyond what MBSR covers – which I’m happy to share 🙂

Check out the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction 8 week course here – and if you buy it using my partner link – I’m happy to help you any way I can by phone, email or otherwise.  (i’m happy to help either way, actually – so don’t be shy if you have questions about meditation – there is nothing I like talking about more!  🙂

(PS – I can’t find the author/artist of the donut in this picture, but it always makes me laugh when I see it yet again! 🙂

I am an author, artist and entrepreneur. My 2 passions are writing about, and teaching Marketing and Meditation. I like to think I’m a lot like Eckhart Tolle, if only he was taller, and a much better tennis player. (it turns out in person, he’s super short, has a terrible backhand and wears this weird scottish hat thingy that makes it really difficult to concentrate while serving) Plus he refuses to keep score and says ” it’s always NOW” when you ask who is up. Enough about me. We barely know each other. Stop staring. You’re making me nervous.
