I love this idea.

If you want to do great work……your obligation is actually pretty simple:

Just show up.

Do your part.

Allow yourself to be an instrument for the inspiration.

It doesn’t need to come from you.

It simply needs to flow to you…..and through you.

Your genius only asks that you open your mind and believe.

There are so many extraordinary people doing extraordinary things in the world……that if you let it, it can intimidate those of us who aren’t imbued with inspired ideas everyday.

It seem so easy to think that doing great things is beyond us.

That our grip and grasp isn’t strong enough to rise up…..and dance in the direction of our dreams.

Elizabeth Gilbert would tell you otherwise.

I love the idea that our job is just to be there and prepare.

To sit up and take notice that there is something electric in the air...and it doesn’t care who is open and ready to bring it to life.

It’s funny – I remember reading “Eat Pray Love” about 4 or 5 years ago one slow and soggy weekend visiting one of my sisters at the New Jersey shore.

It was one of those books I normally wouldn’t have picked up……but for whatever reason, I did – and it inspired me to want to pick up and explore the world and experiment with ideas I may have thought were silly only shortly before.

If you have passion for your work…but feel perpetually stuck in a creative rut – or find yourself unable to find that genius that you know you need to stand out and succeed – it may be as simply as just showing up, and inviting the elf of inspired ideas to stop on your block and get comfortable..:-)

I know that for me – the creative channel is often out there.…and NOT in those inside places I perpetually press, and prod and pray to produce.

It’s a tapping into something, and has much more to do withΒ  allowing something special to appear –Β  rather than baking or building it on my own.

(plus it takes a whole lot of pressure off – it it doesn’t arrive – it ain’t my fault…..as I know I rolled out of bed and did my part:-)

Hope you enjoy this – and that it inspires you as much as it does me.

I am an author, artist and entrepreneur. My 2 passions are writing about, and teaching Marketing and Meditation. I like to think I’m a lot like Eckhart Tolle, if only he was taller, and a much better tennis player. (it turns out in person, he’s super short, has a terrible backhand and wears this weird scottish hat thingy that makes it really difficult to concentrate while serving) Plus he refuses to keep score and says ” it’s always NOW” when you ask who is up. Enough about me. We barely know each other. Stop staring. You’re making me nervous.
