In an earlier post a few days ago, I pointed out some of the surprising benefits I've found by posting lots of my compiled content on Scribd – and some of the ancillary benefits and insight this has provided. And just because I'm a little bit slow to the jump, as I was hunting around Scribd this morning looking at some of my stuff, and taking some notes on the exact keywords and long tail phrases people were using specifically, to arrive at my docs – I had a caffeine induced epiphany that is well worth noting.
If – I could see EXACTLY what people were typing in to find MY stuff, I certainly could use the same exact logic to find exactly what they were using to find my competitions stuff too, right? (more…)

I've made a few posts on here about writing good link bait, some a bit tongue in cheek, and others I think a pretty good overview of some effective ways to get your name up on the marquee a bit faster than waiting around for the guy with a crane for sale. Quite simply, link bait, for those of you who haven't been hit by the Wiley coyote two ton rock of web 2.0 terminology, is essentially the process of premeditated, purposeful and strategic content creation that is designed, ostensibly, to drive boatloads of backsides and lots of incoming links, to your site, service or offer.
