I never understand why people do this. Really. Genuinely and honestly….what is the thought process that immediately preceedes slapping your landing page which 16 different ads ( some of which have nothing to do with the topic of the site) all butting up against each other in a collage like car wreck of creative crisis?
I don't get it…and it will NEVER work - you will NEVER make money with this sort of monetization strategy and it amazes me how prevelant this sort of shallow thinking really is. It honestly makes me angry. If I wasn't taking my medication everyday, i'd probaby head butt the wall out a sense of futile frustration. An Undiscovered GemAbout 4 or 5 months ago, some one I was doing some work with recommended I check out Scribd as a good place to submit content - articles, mini reports, entire pdf's, you name it, Scribd was taking it. Like all sites like this that hold the promise of page rank, the strategy is to simply piggyback off of THEIR power, and have YOUR articles, documents and sales propositions rank higher and faster than they would ( or could) ordinarily on your own. I keep getting different derivations of this question via email, see it asked a lot in different serendipitous online spots, and got a note this morning "correcting" me on the proper use and purpose of article submissions. "Bob" told me that my article marketing strategy was not only "wrong, it was misleading people on the right way to write articles for backlinks".
Of course this is a totally specious and silly argument, as there are FAR better and easier ways today to get backlinks than writing articles,( link bait, social networking strategies, etc) article "links" are somewhat discounted to begin with anymore, (and have been for a few years) and they are TRULY not part and parcel of why I recommend you write articles in the first place. For me - and for the most part - article marketing is a MERCENARY business. (more…)

I've covered a whole LOT of article marketing concepts on this blog (and in other spots) and STILL believe it the absolute easiest way for ANYONE - regardless of their skill level, to make money online in rapid fire turn around time. It's interesting because I got an email from someone the other day - who said a whole bunch of off the wall kind of stuff - (and in only quasi understandable english) and that ended by stating he wanted ME...to coach HIM - (for FREE) and IF he was finally able to make some money (he hadn't made a dime in 7 years according to his email) then, and ONLY then, he would agree to pay me.
Now, that's a great offer and all, and I have to admit - it WAS tempting to try to squeeze a few more hours out of the day to offer a complete stranger some complimentary coaching and cross my fingers that he was able to sort of end the 7 year drought, but after tossing it around for a few sleepless night, I kind of decided I was going to have to pass..:-)
I actually sent this guy a pretty edgy, mean spirited reply (which I NEVER do) - in which I basically said - if you haven't made money in 7 years - you are PROBABLY in the wrong field and it might be a good time to start thinking about a career as a bullfighter - or bellydancer or something less intellectually taxing. And of course, a few minutes after hitting send, my guilty conscience kicked in and I felt really guilty and promised myself I'd stop checking my email after 6 tequila shots. (more…)
I wanted to post an update per the article I wrote a few days ago on testing your landing page conversions for free (While everyone else pays through the nose).
If you haven't read that article, I think it's well worth looking at first, as it provides a slender shred of insight into the marketing mindset we use to write and submit articles to sell affiliate products. And again, it's not really about article marketing, it's about TESTING your offer, to glean, cull and collect as much intelligence and insight possible about what converts best in each and every affilaite marketing space that you choose to occupy.
