Honestly? It’s NOT for everyone, and while it’s super simple to use, if you have no idea what you’re doing in the online marketing space, I probably wouldn’t recommend you start here.

Why?

The vast amount of competitive intelligence that KC offers is simply staggering, and if you don’t know what to do with it….you’ll just end up with a super long list of killer keywords that sit on your hard drive.

Key take away? This is a tool for serious internet marketers, and if you’re not playing for keeps, your best bet may be to play in another sandbox to start out. (The Free Google tool is great for newbies….and there is NO shame in starting there).

What does KC do?

Quite simply, it generates HUGE lists of keywords….in a format that is super easy to digest. You get just about every metric possible on the keyword side (KEI, collective search counts across Google & Yahoo alike for each derivative keyword – monthly PPC clicks – average CPC and the SUPER valuable EPC which is a game changer if you are an AdSense publisher).

Keyword Country will also generate another list almost simultaneously of RELATED words, all highly related, including tangential ideas, mis-spellings and "LSI" style words to help you broaden the scope of your focus.

Very simple. EPC for example, as above, is the EXPECTED payout you should get from running a Google AdSense style site, and NOT the CPC, which many people use…..but is often WILDLY off target, leaving you wasting important time, energy and income optimizing a site that will ultimately have a piss poor payout.

Really too many too list! The amount of keywords that you can generate is, in my view, unrivaled thus far in my experience. How so? Well, in their "advanced search" and "get more keywords" tab, you can dig SO incredibly deep that the scope of keywords are actually staggering.

For example, I ran a query on the term "Resveratrol" on both KC, (using the more advanced search settings) and several of the popular competing research tools, which I also like.

The bottom line?

KC simply blew them out of the water.

I generated over 1000 HIGHLY targeted keywords with KC – and these were "buy keywords" as well, and not the generic junk that many of the others gave me.

The EPC feature is an absolute MUST if you are publishing AdSense style sites, and as this writing, I don’t know of another tool that does this, or does it as well as KC. If you are creating a blog for example, around a set of keywords, KC will give you the HIGHEST paying permutations of those phrases for AdSense (and you can infer for Yahoo publisher as well) and these are often, FAR different than the figures you "guesstimate" going in using other tools. Any drawbacks to KC? What About the Cons?

The only "con", is that the interface can occasionally "feel" remedial and a bit basic compared to some of the "slicker" tools on the market.

It doesn’t have the super slick, high tech aesthetics of some popular tools….but who cares what the program looks like, right?

What’s pretty are the RESULTS, and with KC the results are truly remarkable.

One last "con" would be – if you are STRICTLY a PPC marketer (i.e. – you do no real on site SEO, link building or have the desire to dominate with FREE traffic strategies) Keyword Country may not be the right choice for people who do ONLY PPC.

Why?

Well, you do get tons of great data for your paid search campaigns, but some of the "spy" style tools would probably make for a better choice for those who live or die on paid search traffic alone.
