An Exhausting Article Marketing Strategy: (and How to Fix it Fast)

Okay – here is yet another example of how NOT to write articles if you are trying to make money with affiliate marketing.

Is this article any good?

I have no idea.

Want to know why?

It’s 3008 words.

I took a nap about halfway through…and ONLY woke up because I’ve got a bootleg Metallica burn pipelined directly from my i pod into my cranium at ungodly level..

Who in the right mind is going to read a 3000 word article on dating?

Not me….and you could make a good argument I should.

Steven King has written short stories shorter than 3000 words and he doesn’t need the money.

Look – the truth is – this is the BIGGEST reason people I work with or speak to stay away from writing articles for traffic – they are under the misguided impression that this sort of tome is the required approach.

It’s not.

This 3000 word article COULD be made to perform, literally – 100X better with one simple change.

~ Turn it into 10 unique articles!

EzineArticles requires 250 at minimum, so with the same basic effort, you could do 10 300 word articles that WILL outperform a long article.

(statistically this has been proven true over and over again….and while EZA would prefer LESS hyper short articles they acknowledge shorter articles are a better ROI for all)

So to “V” – here is some unsolicited advice: These last 4 years that you’ve been a “player”?

Maybe cut back a tad on the playing and invest in a solid time management course.

I’m sure your dating advice is illuminating – it’s just that life is short. So I decided to pass.

For everyone else out there who is THINKING about investing in writing a few simple articles, but isn’t’ quite sure how much time, effort or energy is necessary to invest – I’ll give you one I JUST wrote, it took me about 4 minutes, and while it’s a bit tongue in cheek, I hope you get the point! This stuff is SO easy! Just get started already..:-)

In this article we are going to talk about the 2008 world series. I am a big fan of the philadelphia phillies and believe they will win this years world series. Why am I so confident you ask? I’m glad you asked! Continue reading below as I share my reasons!

Reason Number 1: God told Me so

Yes, you heard right. The good lord almighty came to me in a dream a few months ago and told me the phillies would win the 2008 world series! Don’t believe me? Well they won game number 1 already! There are only 3 more to go and this prophecy will have been proven true and then you’ll know I’m telling the truth. So there.

Reason #2: We Have Better Players

Yes I know I’m biased, but Chase Utley is the best 2nd baseman in baseball and Ryan Howard is chubby, but boy can he hit the ball far! We’ve got better middle relief, a great closer and Charlie Manuel has proven himself to be a great manager, even though he sounds like he’s got a mouthful of oatmeal when he talks.

Reason #3: The Philadelphia Fans are the Best

There are no fans in the world like Philly fans. I should know because I’ve lived here for my entire life! (other than for 3 months last winter when I moved to Key West because I was really depressed and thought a change of scenery might do me good – it didn’t) Philly fans are like the 10th man out on the field and I KNOW that our passion for the team is a big reason they’ve come this far.

So there you have it. 3 Reasons Why the phillies will win the 2008 World Series. Go phils!
