I wrote and submitted an article earlier today to one of the article directories on the power of Wordpress, and it’s inherent ability to take a complete and utter online marketing newbie and having him or her creating a killer site in mere minutes – it really is unbelievable the flexibility in both form and function that Wordpress offers, and amazingly it is completely free…..
Which is going to make my next statement sound a bit foolish, but – if you are serious about building a real online business and are using Wordpress – and aren’t using Semiologic Pro, you really are selling yourself short. On the left hand of this site, in the sidebar – I have a link to SEM Pro – (my affiliate link too) and it says – the best $300 you can spend online. And truly, if you are keen on building a series of sites, or even just 1 big “money site” – this thing is really such an unbelievable unfair advantage that it’s not fair (or funny) to people who are playing with the plain Jane version of WP.
And this isn’t a shill for Semio – I use it on this very site, have since last February, and am running about 25 different Wordpress installs on SEM Pro. I absolutely love it – you can clone an entire network of sites with the mere push of a button, ( if you are in a niche market – you set up 1 main site – then clone as many versions of that site as you have domains hosted for that niche – your own mini –net built from the ground up in less time than it takes to eat lunch )a sophisticated ad spaces system which manages your advertising real estate, positioning, frequency, rotation, etc – there are built in plugin’s and goodies that I just don’t’ have the intellectual wherewithal to do verbal ( or written in this case..:-) justice to – but suffice it to say, if I had to start all over again and you gave me $500 bucks to do it – I would buy 1 web hosting package with unlimited add on domains and Sem Pro, and I would very simply just get to work..:-)
Denis has just released a beta version of SP 5.0 – and it is truly groundbreaking stuff as far as a Wordpress enhancement, and yet still, dummy simple to use. I urge you to take a look – lots of people on here have asked me about SBI (which I like and have owned and recommend) and other sorts of eBooks, software and programs for hardcore newbie’s – I always try to steer people clear of making a lot of the same financial over-investment choices I made when I first got started (in buying everything under the sun). But if you have a few bucks and are serious about making a living online – you need the flexibility to create sites quickly, to spot opportunities and move like the wind – and Wordpress gives you that basic functionality and SemPro just kicks it so hard in the ass that you’ve almost got to try to build a bad business around it.
It’s the one forum I check out frequently – ( buyers only) and I know that Denis is planning on making some price structure changes as a consequence of the 5.0 update he is releasing ( hopefully) this week, many of us in the forums have been playing with the beta version and it’s nothing short of phenomenal.
Anyway – my article on Wordpress from Ezinearticles.com is below if you wish to read it – you CAN do very well with a simple WP install and if you are broke, working two jobs or don’t have it to spare – please don’t buy SemPro on my push. But if you’ve got a few bucks and have been waiting for a good place to put it ( wisely) where it’s sure to pay off, I can’t think of a better investment online than this.

If you have an online business these days, or have any aspirations to start one, the very next thing you should do is start a blog. And why do I say that you ask?
Well, in my own experience, there is nothing that is better for building brand awareness, name recognition, trust, value and page rank as your very own blog. And from the standpoint of SEO and quick access to creating a large and interested audience, you aren't going to find a better and more affordable vehicle than RSS.
Let's take a quick look at a quick and easy approach to setting up your own site, and why it makes for a great Search Engine Optimization choice as well, especially if you are just starting out.
From the standpoint of simplicity, cost effectiveness and good old fashioned SEO, I would highly recommend you start your new blog with Wordpress. It is free, (open source) highly customizable and is hosted on your own server, which gives you great growth potential and scalability as you grow going forward.
If your web host has Cpanel and Fantastico, you are looking at a truly lickety split installation - you can have Wordpress automatically installed with one click in less than 60 seconds, and be blogging in less than time than it takes to make a cup of instant coffee!
Another advantage of picking an open source blogging platform like Wordpress is that there are so many plug-ins, or enhancements and add ons to the base software program that your head will literally spin with the possibilities. You can install well over 1000 and counting free themes or templates to give your site a unique look, you can install widgets that give your site visitors polls, email subscription forms, social networking icons to spread the link love throughout the blogosphere - the choices are almost endless.
But the heart and soul of a good blog that ranks well is consistency. And having a point of view. Be yourself; don't shrink from putting yourself out there and saying something interesting. There is such a vast abundance of bland, plain Jane thinkers out there in the online universe, that simply taking a stand and saying something unique is often enough to get you some instant attention. And from a SEO standpoint, your unique voice will have other site owners from around the web linking to your great content, which of course makes your site more authoritative and interesting in the search engines eyes, gets your pages updated and crawled more often, which keeps your pages moving higher and higher in your chosen industry or niche.
Don't forget about the social networks either. If you participate in the various popular community sites online, let your friends and foes both know about your new site, post links wherever you are involved online and those links will find friends who will come back and see what else you have to say. Ping your blog often, letting the RSS aggregators know you update often. Submit your new site to human edited directories so you get ever more "link love" from around the web, good listings in good quality directories are a sure sign to the search engines that you maintain a quality site.
Keep up with and keep at it, even when you don't feel like writing try to kick some stuff out, when you start getting some fans, and a following they expect you to give them a reason to keep coming back! There is nothing worse than finding a good website that you really enjoy reading, and then discovering the site owner only stops by one or twice a month! (I've been guilty of that very thing, too!)
Good luck and hope to see you blogging to the bank in no time..:-)
